Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind joined other privacy and data protection authorities to explore the application of privacy and data protection principles to AI. The roundtable was a side event to the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit and was organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in collaboration with Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission and France’s Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés. Commissioner Kind joined peers from Korea, Ireland, France and the UK in signing a joint statement that reaffirms the privacy authorities' commitment to establishing data governance that fosters innovative and privacy-protective AI.
Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind delivered a ‘speed speech’ about principles Australia must prioritise to build AI that operates in the public interest. Tech Futures was hosted by the Tech Policy Design Institute in partnership with auDA as an event of the Parliamentary Friends of Tech Policy.
